Alma Johns manages M&A transactions and creatively structures financing proposals for various companies in the manufacturing, aerospace, biotech, medical device, food distribution, and telecommunications sectors.
As Corporate Banker at MUFG, she managed the accounts for multinational corporations and significantly increased the bank’s loan portfolio during her tenure.
Most recently, she managed a total of $1.6 billion in credit facilities at RBC Royal Bank and mentored commercial markets managers on credit structures.
Alma, has over 20 years of proven track record in evaluating businesses for institutional funding and has published numerous articles on M&A, private equity, senior debt, management buyout, business strategy and infrastructure in PROFIT Guide, Canadian Business and Canadian Metalworking.
Her passion is to help successful business owners maximize their valuation at “exit” and help ambitious entrepreneurs access capital to grow their businesses.
Rod Robertson joined Bench Capital in 2018, bringing his wealth of experience and extensive global network to our M&A Advisory practice.
Rod is a 20 year veteran of the Investment Banking community worldwide and has successfully concluded over 70 transactions as the Managing Partner of Briggs Capital. Rod has been active in the Canadian market throughout his career and has represented Canadian private companies on their sell side and buy side mandates.
Rod is based in Boston but the majority of his transactions have been throughout the United States as well as Europe and Central America. Rod is a well regarded international Guest Lecturer and is presently a speaker at the Harvard Business School and other well known educational institutions worldwide. Rod has written a book “Winning at Entrepreneurship” that has been well received. He is a regular contributor to multiple media sources throughout the US.
Houman earned a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2006 followed by an MBA in Finance from Schulich School of Business in 2017.
He is currently a CFA Level II candidate. Prior to joining Bench Capital as a Senior Associate, he has combined 8 years of experience in Corporate Finance and Operations Management roles in the Manufacturing and Logistics Industries with an exceptional quantitative background.
He has worked as an Engineer in the automotive sector, including at Magna International. He is very passionate about M&A and Investment Banking and is relentlessly dedicated to helping customers maximize the value of their businesses at “exit”.
